The Chinese New Year is the most important holiday in the Chinese calendar. It is a movable feast, celebrated each year between January 21 st and February 20 th . This year, we celebrated it on Feb 10 th , thus beginning the Year of the Wood Dragon. In our company we strive to foster cultural diversity by celebrating both Polish and Chinese holidays.

Employees coming down to participate in the event were greeted with traditional decorations in the form of red lanterns and beautiful fans. The activities consisted of, but were not limited to, a Chinese caligraphy workshop, which rewarded the most precise and patient, and a paper- cutting workshop showcasing the beauty of Chinese decorative arts. The volunteers could all take their little piece of art home.

Board game enthusiasts were thrilled to try their hand at weiqi (also known as Go), where players strive to take control over territory marked by game pieces. This board game boasts 2500 years of history. The duels challenged our strategic and logical capabilities.

Our employees also had the chance to take a walk on the Great Wall of China in virtual reality. By means of technology, we transported ourselves to China and experienced the majesty of this historic wonder. Prior to the event, the employees participated in a quiz, testing their knowledge of Chinese history, culture, and tradition.

The Chinese New Year at GTHR Poland was a time of enjoyable activities, discovering Chinese culture, and uniting with our colleagues. Decorating our workspace together, playing Go, and completing the quiz were conducive to strengthening ties and creating an atmosphere of kindness and mutual respect. We are grateful towards all GTHR Poland employees for their participating in this celebration. Your energy, involvement, and joy is what truly made it special.
